Support Worker/Life Skills educator

Job Description

Looking for an enthusiastic, out-going Behavioral Interventionist/support worker to look after a pretty special guy in grade 11. Our guy has autism and is very sweet, has a good sense of humor, but can be quite distracted by his environment. The program consists of a combination of academic and life-skills instruction with some community outings as well. 

Qualifications:
Must agree to a criminal record check
Love working with youth
Ability to take and apply constructive feedback
Ability to multi-task fluently
Ability to accompany child on community outings
Background in psychology or similar field an asset
Swim instructor certification an asset.

Specifics:
Shifts 3- 4 hours in length
2 shifts per week, Mondays and Tuesdays
Afternoon shifts starting at 1.30pm
Summer and Spring break hours go up to full day
Accompany child on community outings and events
Must be available to pick up child at Kitsilano Secondary.
Accompany on transit to library, lesson.
Have license is an asset.
Support child in at home life skills programming

Responsibilities:
Working one on one with the child
Taking data on multiple program targets
Making data-based decisions
Liaising with school team and other therapists, (OT, Counsellor)

Wage: $20-25 to depending on experience
