Looking for a kind, patient and energetic individual who enjoys children to work with a 6 ½ year old child with autism over the summer holidays. He has a few words but typically shows people what he needs and wants. He is usually happy and content. Goals to work on will include: communication, life skills, community outings (playgrounds, library, playgroups), eating new foods and maybe toileting. The position is in Sicamous but travel time will be paid if the ideal candidate lives out of town. Wage is variable depending on experience and skills. Must be reliable and have experience working with children. Hours can be flexible depending on the availability of the ideal candidate. The position could be anywhere from 8 hours to 30 hours a week. Training and regular contact with the behaviour analyst will be provided.
