Currently have several openings for in home care for my paraplegic 81 year old mother. She is paralyzed from the waist down and has a permanent catheter and uses briefs. The right candidates will be patient, caring and compassionate and preferably have experience with bed/chair transfers using an electric lift.
There are four 1 hour shifts daily with one two hour shift per week for bathing. We are hiring two care aides for each shift due to my mom being paraplegic to ensure she is safely and comfortably transferred and all care is easier for the HCA.
It is preferential that candidates have their own transportation to ensure reliability. Must be comfortable with pets (dogs will be crated during care-cats are loose).
Requirements:
*Have current/valid registration within BC as a HCA-due to the nature of my mom’s condition and the fact that she just had her legs heal over from necrosis, hiring trained HCAs is a must
*Must be fully Covid 19 vaccinated- this is mandatory through the CSIL program we are with.
*Criminal Record Check
*Experience and references
Equipment in house:
-Air bed and ROHO cushion for heels
-Tilt Wheelchair with ROHO cushion (manual)
-Overhead lift -currently it is only sideways for transfer to chair but after Christmas it will be a Y/J track which will allow for repositioning within bed as well.
