Family seeks part-time/flexible childcare for a 11 year old boy with Autism. He is verbal, mostly independent, curious and playful. He can be stubborn and responds best to confident, enthusiastic adults. Care can be provided at his home or in the community. We are looking for about 5-10 hours per week. Hours can potentially increase if it’s a great fit and the experience has a positive impact on his mood, social skills and behaviour. Pay starts at $25/hour or more depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
-experience providing childcare
-thorough understanding of Autism, experience working with children with Autism preferred
-patient, energetic, caring person with a positive attitude
-reliable and committed to building a relationship with our child
-transportation to/from our residence in Castlegar at variable hours (schedule is flexible and usually negotiated according to the care provider’s availability)
-strong communication skills
