Home Support Worker

Job Description

East Vancouver family with a petite 25 year old daughter, is looking to hire a support worker to join their home team. The shifts, 7-12 hours per week, would be in the evenings 5pm-8pm during the week, and at least one weekend afternoon. This individual is a cheerful young woman who enjoys sensory activities and being out in her community near Commercial Drive. She is hard of hearing, has a visual impairment, is non-verbal, and has a modified crawl. This individual needs assistance with eating, personal care, walking, communication, and accessing her community such as going grocery shopping and to the library.
Applicants should be comfortable with providing physical support and a small amount of lifting (less than 45 lb). Support worker is not required to drive. Training and ongoing professional development will be provided.

Knowledge of ASL is an asset.
