Home Share Provider

Job Description

Home Share Provider Needed: New Westminster – Burnaby BC
The Sources Home Share Program provides a residential option to adults with developmental disabilities who are looking for a more natural care environment within the community.

Individuals share a home with matched, qualified and screened caregivers who provide ongoing support in all aspects of the individual’s life. SOURCES monitors the home to ensure quality care is being provided and individual needs are being met in order to enhance growth in skill development and independence.

Sources Community Resources Society is currently seeking a Home Share Provider in the Tri City area to support a 51-year-old man living with autism. Funding = $2,155.77 / month.

His hobbies include wood working, biking, nature walks, and listening to music. He enjoys building and/or creating new things by hand. He is very skilled in woodworking. With the right caregiver he would be open to exploring more and new hobbies!

He is extremely independent and polite; he works every Sunday at a local restaurant. Which he takes public transit to and from work or rides his bike. He is very bus savvy and with some brief training will be able to navigate any new neighborhood. He has a strong relationship with his family and visits them regularly.

Arrangement Preference: He is not a picky man and is looking for a home that is inclusive but also respects his independence. He is entirely independent regarding home skills so, a room or a suite within someone’s home would work for him.

Applicants must have experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Applicants must be able and willing to support requests made by the individual as needed.

Requirements include – Adult Emergency First Aid and CPR, criminal record check, valid BC driver’s license and drivers abstract.
