Home Share Provider Needed: White Rock – Surrey BC
The Sources Home Share Program provides a residential option to adults with developmental disabilities who are looking for a more natural care environment within the community.
Individuals share a home with matched, qualified and screened caregivers who provide ongoing support in all aspects of the individual’s life. SOURCES monitors the home to ensure quality care is being provided and individual needs are being met in order to enhance growth in skill development and independence.
Sources Community Resources Society is currently seeking a Home Share Provider in the White Rock – Surrey area to support an intelligent, outgoing 23-year-old Youngman on the Autism Spectrum with Lennox – Gastaut syndrome (seizures).
His hobbies include arts and crafts, bowling, swimming, model building / Lego, movies, and computer games. He enjoys learning and teaching others about trains and cars – while completing and making up his own math equations. He has many talents and gifts, but what stands out the most is his sense of humor! Some areas he requires support in are prompts to complete daily personal care, dispensing and monitoring medication, and social inclusion.
Arrangement Preference: A room within someone’s home that gives him the support and family inclusion that he needs.
Applicants must have experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and seizures. Applicants must also be available to attend doctor and specialist appointments as needed.
Requirements include – Adult Emergency First Aid and CPR, criminal record check, valid BC driver’s license and drivers abstract.
