Behavioural Interventionist

Job Description

We are seeking a positive, energetic Behavioural Interventionist to support a autistic/ADHD 8-year-old child at home and in the community. Applicants must be willing to take the child on social outings, have a reliable vehicle and be able to pick up and drop off child from home in Port Moody. Shifts are mainly after school, Professional Development Days, Saturday and Sunday, and spring, summer winter breaks.
Salary: $25 – $50 per hour depending on education and experience.
Location: Port Moody, BC
Hours: daytime; 2-5 sessions per week; 2-4 hours each session; Saturday and Sunday and periodically throughout Spring, Summer, and Christmas breaks.
• Education in Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Speech & Language Pathology.
• Experience working with children with autism and ADHD.
• Minimum 19 years of age with a clear criminal record check.
• Current valid First Aid certificate.
• Energetic, punctual, patient, and interested in supporting growth in children.
• Strong communication and play skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to take child on social outings. Will be reimbursed for mileage.
• English required.
Minimum 6 month – 1 year commitment
