In Sidney on Vancouver Island:
Looking for a reliable, long-term caregiver for my spunky 14 year old daughter in Sidney BC. She is funny, very verbal, has autism & a rare deletion syndrome as well as a g-tube for nutrition.
Starting in January 2022, we are looking for someone to pick her up from school Tues-Friday (3pm-7/8pm) plus 8 hours on Saturdays. We are open to having her cared for in your home once rapport has been established and training has been completed but are fine with having the care happen in our own home as well. Potential for overnights and additional hours every month.
We are looking for someone who has a passion working with children whom have diverse abilities, experience with ABA and autism are preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Training in g-tube feeding is provided. Training will start in late December/early January.
She loves telling stories, “reading” books and having them read to her, water painting, animal shows, and science facts. She requires assistance with personal care and positive behavioural support.
A clear criminal record check (CRRA for vulnerable sector) is required. Hourly wage is dependent upon experience $22-$25+ per hr. We have a fabulously cohesive and long-term team of paraprofessionals working with my daughter- great professional resources for those already in the field or looking to enter the field. Please contact me if you are available and interested.
