We are looking to find someone who wants to hang out after school with this truly awesome 9-year-old.
Henry is fun-loving, hilarious, and has a HUGE heart. He also happens to have autism and epilepsy. Henry attends a wonderful after-school program onsite at Fort Langley Elementary. Sometimes after a long day at school, Henry needs a break from the group busyness and alas, our wonderful childcare just doesn’t have the staff to accommodate someone going off to hang with Henry. This is where you would come in!
Typical things that Henry likes to do on breaks would include: going for walks around the field, climbing a tree, or hanging out for a bit on the playground. Otherwise, his support person can just hang back and enjoy working with a really exceptional team of childcare folks who have known (and loved) Mr. H for years.
We are looking for someone:
– to work Monday to Friday, 2:30-4:30
– to work in the capacity of a Behaviour Interventionist (although no previous experience is required in this role)
– to pick Henry up from his classroom door at 2:35 and walk across the yard to the childcare
– who doesn’t mind a little man that likes some silly noises, loud singing, and very hearty belly chuckles
We are hoping that someone can start on February 7. The rate is $18-$20 an hour depending on experience.
